CHAPTER 004
[ LOVEABLE IDIOTS ]
I step out of the car as Daniel pulls the handbrake after parallel parking in front of a small korean cuisine restaurant only 2 blocks away from my school. Ferica and I come here all the time after school, and as usual, it's packed with highschool students.
I'm waiting for a table for 2 all alone since Daniel left hurriedly to go to the washroom after getting a phone call. I wonder if I should be suspicious. But I decide to spend my time look at the menu instead. Note that I did not say wisely. And of course I have the menu memorised already, but there's no point in wasting time being scared, I've obviously jumped willingly into the open pit already.
10 minutes pass and I finally get settled at a table, but this Daniel person is still not back from the men's room. But being the refined person I am, I'm willing to wait it out. I start to spin my cellphone around on the table, watching the time in the display turn into nothing but a blur. The clock above the cashier struck 11:00 and time kept ticking. I scan the restaurant as I lose interest in my cellphone.
I recognize a few tables occupied by students from my school. And I swear a few joined tables were staring directly at me. But I just look away and wait until they find something more interesting to look at. Another 5 minutes pass, and I'm only getting more hungry. I put my hand on my stomach hoping that it'll get rid of the grumbles. No luck. Fack. Where's that guy at??
Speak of the devil. Here he is now, rushing towards me, skilfully dodging the few waiters and people still waiting to be seated.
He puts a couple of bills on the table. "Sorry, something came up. I gotta go. Here, go ahead and eat, or buy yourself something. See you later, alright?" When I looked up from the money, he was already out the door, and with a ding, the door was shut.
*Umm, okay...what to do now?
"Miss, can I get you anything?" a waiter asked, a gentle smile on her face. Though it scares me how she just popped out of no where and just right into my face.
Ahhh, whatever. I'm friggin' hungry anyways. Just as I finish placing my order, the restaurant door opens again followed by another ding.
"Whoa. Look, it's Teresa."
"What? Where? Whoa."
I grin as 2 of my favourite idiots in the WORLD sit down in front of me.
"Why are you all alone here...? You got ditched by a too-hot-for-you guy, didn't you?!"
"Nice to see you, too. And no, you idiot. Come on, a guy too hot for me? I don't think so, ChoongJae." I joked. Sorta.
"ChoongJae's right isn't he? Who is it!?"
"Ugh. I'm disappointed in you, MinWoo! And you call yourself my bestboy. Can't you read my face? I just came over here to eat, I'm starving from my science exam!"
"You're funny, Teresa. I am your bestboy, and that's why I can tell you were with a guy earlier. I can just SMELL him." Taking a dramatic sniff around, MinWoo turns towards ChoongJae. "The scent's still fresh. I think we can still catch up to him!"
I laugh. "You guys are such idiots. Order something! I'm hungry."
A frown appears out of nowhere on ChoongJae's square-shaped face. His dark brown eyes glisten with fake sadness. With black, short hair; a clean cut, and bangs flying off his forehead with gel, ChoongJae slumps his broad shoulders, trying to look really sad.
"...Idiots..? sniff...that's what we are to you, Teresa!? We're just idiots, MinWoo! Idiots!" Choongjae pretended to sob.
Minwoo smooths out his hair with a brush of his hand. I watch as it settles the way he combed it 'cause of the gel in his hair. He was one of the few select guys that had a really strong jaw line, matched up with a pair of thin lips.
Minwoo's one of the best-looking guys at our school; most girls are jealous of me since I was so close with him. He was definitely kingka material. He looked towards ChoongJae with his taffy brown eyes which complimented his dark eyebrows.
"We may be idiots, ChoongJae. But we're idiots with stomachs of steel!" MinWoo grinned dorkily. ChoongJae grinned along; he knew exactly what Minwoo was implying.
"Oh. Crap." I start saying sorry over, and over, and over again. But my voice is drowned out by the two ordering anything and everything that caught their eye on the menu. Smooth move, Reese. I check my wallet to find a few bills, which will hopefully be enough. I will SO get those 2 tards back, someday, I think evilly. I zone off as their list goes on, though it's funny to see the waiter so surprised and struggling to write everything down.
Daniel had said "see you later". What does that mean? Is he gonna look for me? Or what? Cause I've lived in that apartment for more then 7 years, and I've never even seen him before. Aiyy. Why do I even care? Fate will decide when we meet again. And besides, I'll probably forget him in a couple of days. Cause what kind of friend offers lunch and then baits? Not a good one, that's for sure.
